Healthy foods for growing children essential create the basis of their nutritional status for the rest of their lives. The body is built up by the foods we eat and this statement applies very sensitively when it comes to what we feed our children. This is because if we don't give them healthy foods to eat, we should expect them to grow as healthy and strong as they would have if they increase their intake of foods that are healthy. Mothers and guardians have the responsibility of giving their children balanced meals through out their infant and child life.

If healthy foods to eat are not supplied to our children, they will end up with weak body systems such as the immune system, heart and nervous system, end up with conditions such as obesity or bulimia, and develop diabetes, cancer or other health complications as they advance in years in life. It plays a very essential role in the lives of these children and therefore daily diets should be planned properly.

Healthy foods to eat for children include an assortment of farm fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain cereals and bread, high quality proteins and substantial amounts of milk. Unlike adults, children are constantly growing and they need steady supply of nutrient to facilitate this growth that would be hampered without them. The healthy foods to eat such as those mentioned above will give the child the opportunity to tap into these nutrient sources for healthy body growth, strengthening of bones and immune system, increasing blood volume, facilitating the improvement of higher cognitive systems among other bodily functions.

When looking for healthy foods to eat for your children there are some foods that you should stay way from and standards that you should maintain for the health of your children. These should be home cooked meals and balanced diets where a mother knows all the ingredients that have gone into the preparation process. This is why highly processed food, fast foods and snacks are not usually the foods that are healthy. Of course you can allow your children to splurge on burgers and fries but you still remain as having the sole responsibility of giving your child foods that are healthy every day.

Healthy foods to eat should be coupled with regular activities for the children; this is to ensure that your children get enough exercise on a daily basis. These include outdoor activities such as bike riding, playing sports and running. Ensure that your children have enough healthy foods to eat to grow strong and healthy.
